Celebrating Shiksha Saptah
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, celebrated "Shiksha Saptah" from July 22-28, 2024, commemorating the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This week-long celebration provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the initiatives of NEP2020. Shiksha Saptah aims to foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation among learners, educators, policymakers, and parents . It provides a platform to share best practices, discuss challenges, and chart a path to fulfill the visions of NEP 2020
The shiksha Sapthah was a week long celebration as described below :
Day 1 “TLM day “On this day seminars and exhibitions were conducted to enhance the importance of the use of Teaching Learning Materials in the present day teaching learning process which forms a part of the NEP 2020 children , teachers and parents
Day 2 was dedicated to Fundamental Literacy and Numeracy day (FLN ) to recognize the importance of FLN in the early years of education . As part of the celebration Seminars were conducted for parents and teachers . Children were engaged in activities focusing on FLN . Children were also encouraged to take the NIPUN pledge on FLN
Day 3 was to emphasize the importance of sports and fitness right from the foundation stage. Children were encouraged to participate and play indigenous games to promote them and inculcate the sense of team spirit and discipline in young minds.
Day 4 was Cultural Day. Cultural celebrations was conducted to transform the school environment into a vibrant and joyful place of learning through art and culture .Children participated in Folk Dance , Western Dance performance , Children also joyfully partici[pated in Classical and Western Music . The children also exhibited their skill on the keyboard.The children also displayed their skill with colours .
Day 5 was dedicated as Skilling Day to empower the students and enhance their overall personality and self esteem .
On this day, Kindergarten children were taken for a Nature Walk . The children from foundation and preparatory classes attended about wellness and hygiene . The middle school students attended a class on Technology Awareness, The Secondary school children participated in bag making , Hackathon, Quiz on Information Technology etc . On this day a seminar on Gender Sensitivity was conducted for the children of class XI and XII
Day 6 was celebrated as Eco Clubs and Clubs for Mission Life Day to create awareness about sensitive issues such as climate change , pollution to motivate students to adopt eco-friendly behavior.On this day , the children helped to water and take care of the vegetable garden .The children of class 5 planted saplings along with their mothers as a part of Plant 4 Mothers campaign.
Day 7 was marked with children having spend an afternoon with the inmates of an old age home and having a meal along with them
