Dental Awareness Program at School
On 15 th October , a team of nine doctors from the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Kottayam, visited our school to conduct an awareness program on dental hygiene and common dental issues. The program aimed to educate students on the importance of maintaining good oral health and the potential problems they might encounter if proper care is not taken.
The session began with an informative class by Dr Vishy Tom, where he explained various dental hygiene practices and highlighted common dental problems. The interactive nature of the class allowed students to ask questions and understand the significance of regular dental care.
Following the awareness session, a dental checkup was conducted for students from Standard 3 to Standard 10. Each student underwent an individual examination, and the doctors provided prescriptions for those who required further treatment. These prescriptions enabled parents to follow up with other dental professionals for their child’s care.
The program was a great success, raising awareness among students about the importance of dental hygiene and preventive care. Many students left the session with a better understanding of how to take care of their teeth and gums, ensuring long-term oral health
