Library & Lab Visit to RRII – National Library Week
On November 20th, selected students from Std VI & VII and Std XI (Science) were taken to the Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) as part of the National Library Week celebrations.
• Library Session The staff welcomed the students and introduced them to the specialized resources available in the RRII library. They highlighted how the collection is unique to the field of rubber research and explained its importance for scientists and scholars.
• Lab Experience for Std XI (Science) The Std XI batch was guided to the laboratory, where the staff demonstrated procedures and techniques of rubber propagation. Students gained first hand exposure to scientific methods used in rubber cultivation and research.
• Tissue Culture Lab for Std VI & VII
• The younger students visited the Tissue Culture Lab, where the process was explained in a simple and engaging manner. The staff ensured that complex scientific concepts were broken down into easy to understand steps, sparking curiosity among the students.
The visit provided a valuable learning experience, combining exposure to advanced scientific research with an appreciation of specialized library resources. It not only enriched the students’ knowledge but also inspired them to explore the world of science and research more deeply. The students were escorted by the Principal- Nini Abraham, Librarian- Sheena Naushad and Biology teacher- Aiswarya Namboothiri.
