SESSION ON GENETICS
A special session on genetics was conducted for the students of Grade IX and XI on 22 nd June 2026. Miss Aneena Fran Kalarithara, our former student currently a researcher of Genetics and Genomics at the University of Wisconsin, Madison led the session.
The session introduced students to the world of heredity,genes and DNA. The resource person explained the basic concepts of genetics in a simple and engaging manner. Topics such as inherited traits, chromosomes, genes, DNA structure and genetic disorder were discussed with the help of presentations. The speaker also highlighted the importance of genetics in modern medicine, agriculture and scientific research.
Students actively took part in the session and it helped them understand the role of genetics in every day life. The session was informative and inspiring. It not only enhanced the students' knowledge of Biology but also motivated them to explore careers in the field of science and research.
