Student council election 2023-24
Students of classes IX-XII of Mar Baselios Public School, Kottayam voted for their student office bearers for the current academic year.
Principal, Ms.Nini Abraham said that all democratic voting processes were followed in this school student election.
Students signed in the voters list & had their fingers inked before casting their votes for the posts of Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain & Sports Vice Captain.
Candidates were nominated, opportunity given for campaigning & finally the results announced at a special school assembly.
Last year's student office bearers, led by teacher, Ms.Geeja Kuriakose took charge of organising the election.
The highlight of this election was that the voting was done on an electronic voting machine, created by students themselves at the school's Atal Tinkering Lab.The machine was capable of beeping at each correctly entered vote & a matter of pride to everyone who worked behind it.
The electronic voting machine for the same was developed by the students of the Robotics Club .The machine was created using the Arduino Uno micro controller technology by students of class IX George Mathew, Alwin N.A. & Gyanel Zach Pramod, with the help of their teachers, Mr.Sanjith, Ms.Saumya Nair & Ms.Jinu Sara Eapen.
